S.A.G.E. Crafts offers private classes that range from 2 to 4 hours duration in a wide variety of media, as well as quick make it/take it projects and product demonstrations that will help you get inspired and explore new ideas or products that will enhance your artwork. We also offer open studio times by appointment only during July and August. Following is a list of S.A.G.E. Wednesday, September 3, 2 to 5 PM
“Oh So Precious!” Keepsake Charm Make It/Take It with Vicki - Fee: $5

Make a fashion statement by creating two adorable charms to coordinate with your latest outfits. Stamp your favorite images on shrink plastic, add color, heat and voila! Adhere to a metal charm, add a clasp and they are ready for your charm bracelet. Please note that the fee does not include the charm bracelet.

Batik Resist Card Make It/Take It with Ashley - Fee: $5

Images of butterflies and flowers float atop a dramatic batik dyed card. Radiant Rain sprays are used to create vibrant colors on mulberry and embossing powder is used as the resist. Place in a custom envelope using paper of your choice.

Textured Tiles Make It/Take It with Vicki - Fee: $5

It’s all about texture! Apply embossing paste to a 4” square canvas and impress with rubber stamps, bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, gauze or any other unique texture making tool. Add additional dimension with acrylic paints in regular, interference and/or iridescent colors. Coat with a generous layer of clear tar gel and the result is amazing!

Fused Fibers Make It/Take It with Vicki - Fee: $5

This technique is great for making a unique textural background by using an assortment of decorative fibers, yarn, threads, ribbon, etc. Instead of fusible webbing, this intriguing backdrop is fused together with Bo-Nash, embossing powders and Fantasy Fibers. Trim away excess fibers from around the card and use alone as a greeting card or attach a picture, ephemera, etc.

Class Information

Our new one-on-one class system seems to be popular, so we've decided not to schedule formal classes until further notice.  We will continue to hold our regularly scheduled make it/take it mini classes on Wednesdays, as well as the usual open studio sessions on Thursdays.

If you would like to request a private class, there is no longer a minimum number of students - it can be your time to learn whatever technique or project or material you're interested in!  Just call the store or drop in to schedule your one-on-one class with either Vicki or Nancy.  Class fees will depend on the amount of time you desire to book and the cost of the supplies to be included. Should you want to take a class in a particular medium, but would like some time to speak with the instructors about how much time to book, or what kinds of projects might be possible to learn, your best bet is to stop by on Thursday afternoons when both of us are usually at the shop for the open studio session.

You can contact us by e-mail at classes, call (928) 204-9520, or stop by the store in person for more information or to sign up for a class. Please pre-register and pay for classes as soon as possible, but no later than 36 hours prior to the class. This allows the instructors ample time the day before class to prepare all of the materials that will be needed.

Cancellation Policy: For refund or store credit of class fees, S.A.G.E. Crafts must be notified at least 36 hours in advance of the scheduled class time. Special arrangements may be made for emergencies only when a student calls prior to the start of the class.
